Explanation

Mobil Centaur XHP 460 Series greases are a superior grease family developed with advanced calcium sulfonate thickener technology. Calcium sulfonate has thickening, rust protection and extreme pressure (EP) properties.  Compared to traditional soap-based thickeners (lithium, aluminum, calcium soap), the calcium sulfonate thickener used in the Mobil Centaur XHP 460 Series excels in water-saturated environments by protecting against rust during extended relubrication intervals. EP properties provide very good stability in aqueous environments, providing a balance between wear protection and corrosion resistance.
