Sustainability has been one of 3M's core values ​​for many years. This industry leadership is demonstrated through a number of initiatives such as:

* Our groundbreaking Pollution Prevention Pays program, which has been around since 1975 and continues to evolve today;
* Our RE100 membership and our transition to renewable energy sources, with our global headquarters running on 100% renewable electricity since March 2019;

* Developing products that will help our customers reduce their emissions while reducing our own greenhouse gas emissions;

* We are expanding our skill-based volunteering programs within the scope of our sustainability goals.

In 2015, the UN launched the sustainable development agenda, which includes 17 goals as a universal call to action for countries, societies and companies.
These goals include:

• Target 3.9: By 2030, significantly reduce the number of deaths and diseases caused by air, water and soil pollution and contamination with hazardous chemicals.
• Target 8.8: Protect labor rights and promote safe, secure working environments for all workers, including migrant workers, especially female migrants, and those in precarious employment.

3M is the Principal Sponsor for the United Nations Global Compact - Sustainable Development Goals.

3M works to ensure that suppliers are committed to sustainable and responsible business practices, including improving safety and health in the workplace. These expectations are outlined in the 3M supplier responsibility code.
